Anyma is the solo project of Matteo Milleri, an Italian-American DJ and producer also known as one half of the duo Tale of Us and the co-founder of Afterlife Records. The project's debut EP, Claire, was released in June 2021 and featured a number of collaborations as well as the world's first full-size NFT music video. The second EP, Sentient, followed in July 2021. The full-length album Genesys came out in August 2023 and was followed a year later by Genesys II. Anyma has collaborated with artists such as Grimes, Sevdaliza, and CamelPhat.
Anyma's debut EP, Claire, was released in June 2021 on Rose Avenue Records[5][6][7] and featured collaborations with Janus Rasmussen and Delhia de France.[8][9] The title track was accompanied by the world's first full-size and full-definition NFT music video, created by Berlin-based artist Marigoldff and IOR50 Studio.[9][8][10][11] Anyma's second EP, Sentient, came out in July 2021, on Afterlife Records,[12][13][14] and showcased a darker and more experimental sound. The project's first full-length album, Genesys, was released on 11 August 2023, though it had been expected to come out in October 2021.[15][16][17]
Anyma's live performances are designed to create a unique sonic and visual landscape, allowing the audience to interact with the digital art and music through state-of-the-art technology.[18] The project aims to blur the lines between physical and digital worlds and to cultivate a more connected and immersive experience.[1][2][19]
On 11 August 2023, Anyma released his debut album, Genesys, which explores themes of technology, nature, humanity, and coexistence. It consists of 14 tracks and features artists such as Grimes, Sevdaliza, CamelPhat, Chris Avantgarde, Rebuke, and Cassian.[20] He followed it a year later with Genesys II.
Personal life
Matteo Milleri was born in New York City, the son of Italian business magnate Francesco Milleri.[21] He moved to Italy at a young age and met Carmine Conte in Milan in 2008 while studying sound engineering at the SAE Institute. They formed the duo Tale of Us and relocated to Berlin, where they became a prominent act on the electronic music scene. They also founded their own label, Afterlife, in 2016, which also hosts events.[2]
Milleri married Italian supermodel Vittoria Ceretti in 2020.[22][23] In June 2023, Ceretti announced her separation from Milleri in a TikTok video.[24] Milleri has not commented on his marital status or his relationship with Ceretti.
In March 2024, it became public that Milleri is in a relationship with Grimes.[25]
