Anogi (अनोगी),[3][4] located at 27°19'56.2"N 80°39'44.9"E,[5] is a village in Machhrehta block of Misrikh tehsil in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, India. It had a population of 3,326 as of 2011. It belongs to the Lucknow Division. As per 2009 stats, it is a gram panchayat. The village pin code is 261403 and postal head office is Aurangabad (Sitapur). GeographyThe total geographical area of the entire village is 435.52 hectares with a total population of 3,326 people. There are about 626 houses in the village. It is located 31 km south from the district headquarters Sitapur, 13 km from block Machhrehta, 18 km away from sub-district headquarter Misrikh (tehsildar office) and 70 km from the state capital Lucknow. Kakori, Gangapur, Gopalpur, Ralamau and Sarosa are few of the nearby villages. Government and PoliticsKiran Bala Singh is the current village Sarpanch (प्रधान) and Gaurav Mishra is the Panchayat Secretary (पंचायत सचिव). Praveen Singh is the most prominent political figure of the village; as part of the Samajwadi Party, he served as the Block Head (ब्लॉक प्रमुख) of Machhrehta Block from 2011 to 2016. In March 2024, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and continues to work along with Ashok Rawat, the current Parliament Member from Misrikh. This results in an average sex ratio of 890 females for every 1,000 males. The population of children aged 0–6 years in Anogi is 493, which constitutes 15% of the total population. Among these children, 255 are male and 238 are female. The child sex ratio, therefore, stands at 933 females for every 1,000 males, which is higher than the village's overall sex ratio. The literacy rate in Anogi is 69.6%, significantly higher than the overall literacy rate of 50.9% in the Sitapur district. Male literacy in the village is 83.65%, while female literacy is 53.77%.
