Aleighcia Scott
Aleighcia Scott is a Welsh–Jamaican reggae artist and presenter currently working for the BBC. She is the current host of Thursday Evenings on BBC Radio Wales. Scott is also a reggae singer. Early lifeScott was born in Cardiff, Wales.[1] She has family roots in Trelawny, Jamaica.[2] CareerMusicScott is a reggae artist who has worked with the likes of Salaam Remi (producer of Amy Winehouse & Fugees) and released music on the label, Pecking Records.[3] Scott released her debut EP Forever in Love in April 2018.[4] Her debut album, Windrush Baby, was released in September 2023. A product of over 5 years work between Scott and producer RoryStoneLove; and released on his Black Dub label.[5][6] Aleighcia was chosen to perform live at the 2024 Sky Arts Awards along with The Darkness, Slash and Brian Johnson, Ren, The Three Sopranos, and The Kanneh-Masons.[7][8] RadioIn March 2022 Scott was confirmed as the presenter of the new BBC Radio Wales evening show on Thursdays.[9] Joining alongside Scott was, Huw Stephens hosting the evening show Monday to Wednesday.[10] During Christmas 2022, Scott was to present a special Christmas programme for BBC Radio Wales, A Very Reggae Christmas with Aleighcia Scott on Saturday 24 December at 18:00.[1] Scott has also covered David Rodigan's Sunday afternoon reggae show on BBC Radio 1Xtra a few times in 2023 and 2024.[11][12][13][14][15][16] References
