Acts2 NetworkActs2 Network is a Southern Baptist church network with a college ministry focus. As of 2022, it was on 60 college campuses and 35 US cities.[1] The church was founded as Berkland Baptist Church by Rebekah and Paul Kim in 1981, in the region of Berkeley, California and Oakland, California. In 2006 it reorganized and changed its name to Gracepoint under the leadership of Ed Kang.[2] In 2023 it rebranded as Acts2 Network to better reflect its identity as a network of churches.[1] It serves primarily Asian-American Christians with interest in a faith-centric lifestyle.[3] The network's ministries are run by covocational ministers, people who work day jobs but also engage in ministry outside of their working hours. [4] In addition, members who join the network agree to a published Way of Life set of 15 principles, which guide spiritual and community life for its members. [5] The church has been the subject of investigations. Journalists have documented a variety of harms, including couples forced to break up, shaming, and overworked covocational staff members.[1][6][7] References
