Abu AmamaAbu Amama is a proposed new seaport located 200 km to the north of Port Sudan on the Red Sea. It has an attached enterprise zone. A 200 km road from Port Sudan is included in the project.[1] The project includes an adjoining industrial zone. Abu Amama will be built and operated by AD Ports Group of the United Arab Emirates and Invictus Investment of Dubai.[2] The agreement to develop the port was signed in 2022. On 3 November 2024, the Sudanese government cancelled the agreement to develop the port, citing Abu Dhabi's support for the Rapid Support Forces in the Sudanese civil war (2023–present).[3] References
