2022–23 Edmonton Oilers season Season of play of professional ice hockey team
The 2022–23 Edmonton Oilers season was the 44th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 22, 1979, and 51st season for the organization overall, including their play in the World Hockey Association (WHA).
On April 1, 2023, the Oilers clinched a playoff berth after a win over the Anaheim Ducks .[ 2]
The Oilers became the first NHL team since the 1995–96 Pittsburgh Penguins to have three players surpass the 100-point plateau , with Connor McDavid , Leon Draisaitl , and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins all achieving the feat.[ 3]
In the playoffs, the Oilers defeated the Los Angeles Kings in six games,[ 4] before losing to the eventual champion Vegas Golden Knights in the Second Round.[ 5]
