Football league season
The 2009–10 TNM Super League was the 24th season of the Super League of Malawi , the top professional league for association football clubs in Malawi since its establishment in 1986. It started on 27 June 2009 and was ended on 27 February 2010.[ 1] Silver Strikers successfully defended their title, securing the Super League championship for the second consecutive season.
Teams
Fifteen teams contested the league, twelve teams from previous season and three promoted teams from the regional leagues – Dwangwa United (Central Region Football League), Zomba Medicals (Southern Region Football League) and Nkhata Bay United (Northern Region Football League). They replaced Eagle Beaks Lilongwe , Michiru Castles and Ekwendeni Medicals .
Other changes
Pakeeza FC was spared from relegation due to the withdrawal of Eagle Beaks Lilongwe. Subsequently, was renamed as EPAC United .
Zomba Medicals was renamed as Zomba United .
