The All-Ireland final was played on 10 September 1989 in Coventry, between Cork and Warwickshire, in what was their first meeting in the final in two years. Cork won the match by 0–18 to 0–03 to claim their eighth championship title overall and a first title since 1987.[2][3]
Cork's Noel Twomey was the championship's top scorer with 1-16.
