English local election
Elections to Sale Council were held on Tuesday, 1 November 1938. One third of the councillors were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. The Conservative Party lost overall control of the council.[1][2] These were the last local elections held in Sale until after the end of the Second World War.
