Reaktor BN adalah jenis reaktor nuklir breeder cepat (moderator kosong) berpendingin sodium-cooled versi daya dibangun di Rusia dari perusahaan OKBM Afrikantov. Dua reaktor BN sampai saat ini (2015) merupakan satu-satunya reaktor pemulia cepat komersial yang beroperasi di seluruh dunia.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Reaktor BN dikatakan mampu mencapai rasio pembiakan hingga 1,3, yaitu untuk menghasilkan 30% lebih banyak plutonium dari uranium-238 daripada yang mereka konsumsi dalam jumlah bahan fisil yang sama.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] Kelebihannya bisa digunakan dalam reaktor air ringan. Uranium alami dapat digunakan hingga 60 kali lebih efisien daripada di reaktor konvensional. Namun, sejak 2012 BN-600 telah digunakan sebagai reaktor pembakar untuk membakar plutonium dari senjata nuklir Rusia dengan rasio pemuliaan di bawah 1.[18][19][20][21][22][23]
