Ekonomi informasi

Ekonomi informasi adalah cabang dari teori ekonomi mikro yang mempelajari bagaimana informasi dan sistem informasi mempengaruhi sebuah sistem ekonomi dan keputusan-keputusan ekonomi. Informasi mempunyai ciri-ciri khusus: mudah diciptakan, tapi sulit untuk dipercaya. Informasi mudah menyebar, tapi sulit untuk dikendalikan. Informasi juga mempengaruhi banyak keputusan. Ciri khusus ini (dibandingkan dengan jenis barang-barang lain) mempersulit banyak teori-teori ekonomi standar.[1]
