Raja Duarte I dari Portugal

Duarte (31 Oktober 1391 – 9 September 1438), dikenal dalam Bahasa Inggris sebagai Edward dan dijuluki Raja Filsuf (o Rei-Filósofo) atau Pandai Bicara (o Eloquente), merupakan seorang Raja Portugal dari tahun 1433 hingga kematiannya. Ia lahir di Viseu sebagai putra João I dari Portugal dan istrinya, Filipa dari Lancaster. Duarte adalah anggota tertua "Ínclita Geração", yaitu keturunan kerajaan yang berprestasi yang menyumbang pada perkembangan peradaban di Portugal selama abad ke-15. Sebagai sepupu beberapa raja Inggris, ia menjadi Order of the Garter.[1][a]
