Cyclic AMP-responsive element-binding protein 3 (CREB3) adalah protein yang pada manusia dikodekan oleh gen CREB3.[3][4]
Gen ini mengkodekan faktor transkripsi yang merupakan anggota keluarga protein pengikat DNA leusin. Protein ini mengikat elemen responsif cAMP, palindrom oktamerik. Protein tersebut berinteraksi dengan faktor C1 sel inang, yang juga terkait dengan protein virus herpes simpleks (HSV) VP16 yang menginduksi transkripsi gen HSV. Protein dan VP16 ini mengikat situs yang sama pada faktor sel inang C1. Diperkirakan bahwa interaksi antara protein ini dan faktor C1 sel inang berperan dalam pembentukan latensi selama infeksi HSV. Varian transkrip tambahan telah diidentifikasi, tetapi validitas biologisnya belum ditentukan.[4]
